QUANG BINH WELCOMES THE FIRST GROUP OF TOURISTS ON LUXURY CRUISE

On October 11, 2022, at Hon La seaport, Quang Trach district, the Department of Tourism, the Tourism Promotion Information Center coordinated with relevant units to organize the welcoming of the first international luxury cruise ship with a scale of over 100 guests to Quang Binh after more than 02 years of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Le Lapérouse Cruise, a French-registered luxury cruise ship, is a luxury and modern design. The ship is 132 m long, 18 m wide, and 28 m high, and has been in use since 2018. Le Lapérouse is in the high-end segment, serving a maximum of 184 passengers per trip. The cruise departs from Indonesia, via Singapore to Vietnam. On this cruise to take tourists to visit and explore Vietnam, the cruise brings nearly 100 international tourists from many countries around the world: the US, France, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand.
Quang Binh is a natural, attractive and unique tourist destination, with a coastline of more than 116 km. Currently, the Hon La International Port project is being invested with a total investment of more than 2,100 billion VND, including 04 berths, of which phase 01 is expected to be completed in 2024, including 01 berth for ships with a capacity of up to 50,000 DWT and 01 berth for ships with a capacity of up to 100,000 DWT. When the project is put into use, Quang Binh will be able to welcome large-scale international ships and super yachts to make cruise tourism one of the outstanding tourism products in the province.
The event of welcoming the first luxury cruise ship carrying international passengers to Quang Binh after more than 02 years affected by the Covid-19 pandemic marks an important milestone for continuing to diversify and perfect tourism products commensurate with the potential and competitive advantages of resources. Tourists traveling by cruise ship are all able to spend a lot and usually come from October to April of the following year, coinciding with the low season of domestic tourists. Therefore, welcoming the cruise ship will open a new direction for cooperation and development of international maritime tourism.
Le Lapérouse will visit Quang Binh 03 times on October 11, October 15 and October 31. In Quang Binh, tourists will visit famous tourist attractions in the World Natural Heritage Phong Nha - Bang Bang National Park such as Thien Duong Cave, the longest dry cave in Asia, Phong Nha Cave, Mooc Stream, Chay River - Dark Cave, historical sites in Dong Hoi City, Canh Duong mural village... It is known that during the cruise in Vietnam, Le Lapérouse cruise will stop and take tourists to visit Con Dao (Ba Ria - Vung Tau), Ben Nha Rong (Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Tien Sa (Da Nang), Chan May (Hue), Hon La (Quang Binh) and Ha Long (Quang Ninh).
